American Hardcore: A Tribal History

Written by Steven Blush, ''American Hardcore: A Tribal History'' is a journalistic book that relates the history of the hardcore punk movement that took place in Northern America between 1980 and 1986. It was first published by Feral House in October 2001.
The book was the basis of the documentary film ''American Hardcore'' (2006), directed by Paul Rachman.
==Cover art==
The book cover features a photograph portraying Danny Spira, the lead singer of the hardcore punk band Wasted Youth, covered in blood. The image, colorized by Eric Hammer, was taken by Edward Colver in Los Angeles, California in 1981 (Blush () 2010, p. 8).
